MUCH due to her father's influence, Shannon O'Sullivan admits to being a bit of a fan of the 'King of Rock'n'Roll' Elvis Presley.

But it's an Elvis of a different kind - the seven-year-old gelding Kissmelevis - who has captivated the 22-year-old from Heathcote in recent times.
O'Sullivan has quickly developed an affinity with the Ian Montgomery-trained pacer, notching up a pair of wins in three starts since first jumping aboard the gelding at Shepparton last month.
Their flourishing partnership continued at Tabcorp Park Melton last Saturday night, with the lightly-raced son of Rocknroll Hanover and Kiss Me Catie flashing home for a convincing win in the final race on the program.
O'Sullivan, who said her love for Elvis - as in Presley - developed from frequently listening to the King while travelling to the races as a kid with her father and Australian harness racing legend Jim O'Sullivan, said Kissmelvis had quickly become a favourite of hers.
After teaming up for a win at Shepparton on April 14 and a second behind the John Justice-trained Huli Nien at Melton on April 24, the talented young driver said she was quietly confident of extending their good run of form last weekend.
"I thought I had a good chance; he had been going really good,: she said
"He was a bit unlucky, he didn't get a run (the previous) week, he was an emergency.
"He's definitely a metro class horse, so it was good to see him get a run on a metro night, even though it wasn't a metro race.
"He's a lovely horse to drive and he did it quite easily in the end. He's got a nice, short sprint to him. I was lucky enough to sit on a helmet for long enough and then when I asked him to go, he really went.
"I definitely like driving this horse."
O'Sullivan will get a chance to add a third win in four drives aboard Kissmelvis, when they line up in the second heat of the $20,000 Alabar Vicbred Platinum Metropolitan Pace at Melton this Saturday night.
O'Sullivan sees no reason why the gelding, who has won seven times in 46 career starts and finished in the minor placings 13 times, cannot continue to shake things up in city class.
"Hopefully he just gets another nice run; he certainly has the ability, but it's more of a mental game with this horse," she said.
"With how he has been performing, I'm sure he will win a metro race."
While she is yet to win a metro race herself at Melton, O'Sullivan notched up her fourth win at harness racing headquarters with last Saturday's victory.
Remarkably, her first career win - aboard the Neville Pangrazio-trained Showgun Thomas in January 2018 - was also achieved at Melton.
Another outstanding night for Bendigo region participants included a win for fellow Heathcotre driver Tayla French aboard the Chris Svanosio-trained trotter Anywhere Hugo, and a driving double for Jack Laugher, who sits second on the state drivers' premiership on 76 wins.
French will again partner with Anywhere Hugo in Saturday night's Group 2 Aldebaran Park Vicbred Metropolitan Trot Final (2240m).
