The former South Australian trainer is contemplating a trip north with his Group 2-winning mare Belladonna Girl.
The four-year-old will contest the $30,000 Group 3 Allied Express Richmond Lass (1720m) at Tabcorp Park Melton on Saturday night, with a strong showing putting the mare well and truly in the frame for a berth in Queensland.
Norman could not have been happier with Belladonna Girl's winning return to racing in last Monday's $7000 Dja Dja Wurrung Pacing Cup (1609m) at Charlton.
"Saturday night is our next stop, and obviously the Breeders Crown and Vicbred series will come up at the end of the year, but we are taking the two three-year-olds up to Queensland for their carnival, so we might throw her in as well," he said.
"There are a couple of nice mares races up there, so if she goes okay in her next couple of starts, she will probably join the three-year-olds.
"Saturday's race is a nice race, but a hard race - there are a few in there, who go pretty well, but she did exactly what she needed to do on Monday.
"She's a nice horse and has a pretty good record."
Belladonna Girl, by Hes Watching out of Mixed With A Twist, has won six out of 23 starts and recorded six minor placings for prize earnings of nearly $63,000.
The highlight of her short, but promising career to date was her win in the $50,000 Group 2 Southern Cross Series Final for three-year-old fillies at Globe Derby last December.
Belladonna Girl has drawn gate two on Saturday night and will be driven by Kerryn Manning.
Norman said a return to racing for Aladdin and Apieceoflou, who have not raced since finishing first and third in the $30,000 Group 3 South Australian Pacing Derby on April 17, was nearing.
"(Queensland) is still about four weeks away. All being well, they will have a start here (in Victoria) before they go, and as long as they are going good, we will head up there," he said.
Norman was not the only local trainer to triumph at Charlton, with the father-son trainer-driver combination of Shane and Ryan Sanderson scoring a win with with Minimum Wage in the Wally Memorial Churchill Pace.
There was also success for Junortoun trainer Gary Donaldson with Rocks Arnt Pets, driven by Rod Lakey, and Goornong trainer Peter Salathiel with his four-year-old trotter Sheza Chocolatier.
Bendigo region trainers have combined for 32 winners so far in the month of May.
