THE number of active COVID-19 cases in Victoria has dropped by two, as changes to the state's QR code check-in come into place.

The state had no new cases of coronavirus detected on Monday. The number of active cases now sits at 21.
Changes to the QR check-in mean people will be asked to provide their last name when they register at a venue with the Service Victoria app.
A Department of Health and Human Services spokesperson said the change was about making sure the data was accessible for contact tracers in the event the venue is declared an exposure site.
The change also brings Victoria in line with other states.
Authorities administered 8917 vaccinations on Monday with another 18,041 people tested for the virus.

Public-facing transport workers - including public transport, taxi, and rideshare drivers - will have access from May 24.
Authorities urged anyone to get tested immediately if they had symptoms of COVID-19 such as fever, cough, sore throat, runny nose, chills, sweats, or a change in sense of smell or taste.
