The women were first on the court and triumphed with a seven-point win over the Wildcats, final scores 70-63.
The Braves women came onto the court firing on all cylinders to outscore their opponents 28-8 in the opening term.
However, despite starting on the back foot the Wildcats slowly clawed themselves back into the match and by the end of the third term a shot by Erin Riley lifted Eltham to just one point shy of the Braves 53-52.
The Wildcats' efforts would render ineffective as the Braves put on a shooting clinic in the last to outscore their opponents 17-11, in the process handing Eltham its first loss of the season.
Braves women's coach Mark Alabakov said the team's minor slump in the third quarter simply came down to missed baskets.
"As elementary as it sounds we just weren't executing the shots," he said.
"Those missed shots are not something that happen often but we were able to get ourselves back on track."
Co-captain Tess Madgen continued her run of matches with heavy scoreboard contributions and finished the match with 23 points, nine rebounds, five assists and one steal.
Next was Piper Dunlop with a double-double on 14 points, 13 rebounds, one assist and two steals.
Kate Oliver also notched a double-double on 12 points and 11 rebounds.
Cass McLean earned the match MVP with 14 points, two rebounds and one assist while providing the Braves with a strong presence at both ends of the court.
"Cass was able to do a great job defensively and adjusted her game to a more interior presence," Alabakov said.
McLean said despite the slump in the third quarter, the Braves were determined to secure the home court victory.
"We got back to it in the fourth quarter with strong defence and everyone just pushed for some hard and fast basketball," she said.
McLean said the team entered the match prepared for a challenging four quarters against the Wildcats.
"They are a tough team and we knew if we wanted to get the win we needed to play some tough defence," she said.
The Braves women set the tone for the night and next up were the men who continued their push for a top two spot with a convincing 14-point win over the Wildcats.
The win didn't come easy as the Wildcats hit the court ready to rumble.
By the end of the first quarter the Braves took a narrow one-point lead 21-20.
The one-point margin remained the same at half time, 43-42.
Neither side let up in the third quarter with both teams putting strong scoring contributions on the board.
But it was the home court favourites who nudged ahead to outscore their opponents 21-17 to take a five-point lead into the final quarter.
It was in the final quarter when the Braves put the real pressure on the Wildcats to ensure victory on their home court.
They broke away and outscored the Wildcats 28-19 in what was overall a hard fought game, final scores 92-78.
Ray Turner continued his impressive season notching a double-double with 25 points, 10 rebounds, followed by Nelson Larkins on 16 points, four rebounds and seven assists.
Javaan Mumtaz came next with 13 points, one rebound and one assist.
After the home court match on Saturday night at the Bendigo Stadium the Braves hit the road for an away match against the Frankston Blues.
