Healthy Heart of Victoria coordinator Alicia O'Brien said Greater Bendigo had many fantastic outdoor spaces that are open for the community to use at all times, for free.
"To encourage residents to be active in our outdoor spaces, Healthy Heart of Victoria is hosting free exercise sessions guided by qualified instructors," she said.
"There are general fitness classes and classes for older people with qualified trainers from Gurri Wanyarra Wellbeing Centre catering for all levels and abilities."
Ms O'Brien said the training programs will soon be available digitally.
"We've also developed some free training programs for beginner, intermediate and advanced levels that will be available soon to download," she said.
Two types of classes will run from May 17 to June 4.
The General Classes will be a mix of strength, cardio and body weight exercises targeted at all fitness levels and abilities and the Older Adult classes will be a strength class suited to older adults or participants.
Other news:
Ms O'Brien said the classes will be scheduled during the day and evening so that people can exercise at a time that suits their lifestyle.
"It's easy to book into a class online (or by phone) however, numbers are limited so interested people should book in as soon as possible to ensure they don't miss out," she said.
Anyone wanting to take part in the free exercise classes should wear appropriate clothing and shoes for exercising and bring along a towel and a water bottle.
All attendees will be required to complete a pre-screening form prior to participating in exercise sessions. Sessions will be cancelled in the event of bad weather or heavy rain.
Residents can book online here or phone 0436 816 370.
