The 40-year-old man appeared in the Bendigo Magistrates' Court earlier this week where he pleaded guilty to 24 charges including recklessly causing serious injury and driving offences.
The court heard on June 23 last year, the man was at home with his partner when a verbal argument started.

The man slapped the woman to the face with an open hand before continuing the argument.
Some time later, the man got on top of the woman while she was lying down on a bed.
The woman kneed him in the stomach to try and get him off of her. The man punched her in the face with a closed fist, resulting in a cut to her face.
The woman was able to break away from the man and run to the kitchen. She contacted police while he continued to argue with her.
The man left before officers arrived at the property. The woman went to hospital for her injuries.
The man, who brought himself into police, told officers she was trying to hit him in his broken ribs. The man said she received the cut from her bracelet as she raised her arms to defend herself.
Magistrate Megan Aumair said she would not accept the man's excuse for the assault on his partner.
"It's behaviour that won't be tolerated," she said.
The court heard on May 11, there was a 40km/h zone set up on the Northern Highway in Rochester because of roadworks.

About 6.40am, the man was driving a Holden Commodore along the highway at about 90kmh to 100km/h.
The car collided with the back of a truck and flipped. The commodore came to a stop on its roof, but the man and his passenger were able to get out of the car.
The pair collected their belongings and spoke to some witnesses before leaving the scene.
Police located the man six hours later about 31 kilometres from the crash site. He was taken to hospital for his injuries and a blood test showed there was methamphetamine in his system.
The man went to the Echuca Police station later that day, where he admitted to using methamphetamine and to speeding.
But the offender told officers the weather conditions that morning had affected his visibility.
The man was arrested on April 16 after police found him with stolen number plates. He was searched and officers located knuckle dusters in his pocket.
Twenty pages of prior convictions were submitted to the Bendigo Magistrates' Court.
Defence lawyer Robert Timms told the court the man previously had an issue with methamphetamine use.
Mr Timms said it was inevitable that his client would receive a prison sentence but submitted that a community corrections order would be of benefit.
Ms Aumair agreed to have the man assessed for a community corrections order.
The man was remanded in custody. He is due to return to court next week for sentencing.
