Goldfields Libraries have teamed up with the City of Greater Bendigo to deliver a program of fun and fitness for older adults.
Program coordinator Shae Hellstedt said the eight-week free exercise program aimed to support people over 60 to become more active, and offers opportunities to try age-appropriate hula hooping, tai chi, yoga and dance.
"It is really great to be able to do it at the library because it is a really comfortable place for people especially if they are trying things for the first time," she said.
Ms Hellstedt said Wednesday's tai chi class was completely booked out.
The classes will be held at the Bendigo and Kangaroo Flat libraries and be facilitated by instructors who are experienced in working with older adults, including those with limited mobility.
Goldfields Libraries Programs and Events Coordinator Tammy Higgs said she was excited to offer classes tailored to older adults.
"There's no need to have experience, or be fit already," she said.

"The classes are open to anyone over 60 - or thereabouts - and we'd love people to come along, even if they're feeling unfit or lacking in confidence."
Participants will also receive free goodie bags including localised information on services and activities to get involved in, and some surprises.
