A warning for damaging winds has been issued for southern parts of central Victoria.
The Bureau of Meteorology said wind gusts 80-90 kilometres per hour were possible in the warning area, which included Maryborough, Castlemaine, Kyneton and Daylesford.
"An upper trough will move over Victoria during the early hours of Tuesday," the bureau said in its warning, "with damaging winds expected to form over western parts of the Central Highlands early on Tuesday morning."
"Damaging southerly winds, averaging 40 to 60 km/h with peak gusts of around 80 to 90 km/h are likely over western parts of the Central Highlands from around 3am on Tuesday morning.
"Winds will begin to ease later on Tuesday morning and be below warning threshold by the middle of the day."

The arrival of May is expected to bring some much-needed rain to parts of the state, but the Bendigo region could miss out on the best of the falls.
The Bureau of Meteorology said with thunderstorms contracting to the east throughout Monday, a strong and gusty "surge" of southerly winds would enter the south-west of the state on Monday afternoon.
The system was expected to extend to central parts of the state on Monday evening.
The gusty winds of 30-50 kilometres per hour were expected to reach as far inland as Bendigo, the bureau said.
More news:
"As that colder, southerly surge pushes over the state into the early hours of [Tuesday] we will see strong and gusty southerly winds increase about western and central parts of Victoria," senior forecaster Matthew Thomas said.
Rainfall totals of 5-20 millimetres were possible for southern Victoria on Monday, Mr Thomas said.
Some rain was likely to fall north of the Great Dividing Range on Tuesday, the bureau said, but the biggest totals - maybe up to 40mm - were forecast in southern and eastern parts of the state.
Bendigo experienced a very dry start to autumn, with just 7mm of rain recorded for the month.
Although the dry spell followed a particularly wet March, when close to 80mm of rain fell at Bendigo.
