During the Hungry for Change Appeal, an "incredible" $7,408.75 was raised with all proceeds going towards Bendigo Foodshare's new warehouse and community food hub.

Bendigo Foodshare manager Bridget Bentley said while most of the donations were collected by customer's opting-in to add $5 to takeaway orders and $1 to their coffee orders, larger donations were made from generous supporters of the campaign.
"To see businesses so engaged, and some donating their own takings for the fundraiser is astonishing. It makes me really proud to be a Bendigonian," she said.
"It has been amazing to see such incredible comradery within the Bendigo business fraternity and fierce support and loyalty from the Bendigo community.
"The generous donations from the Bendigo community through our fundraiser was well and truly beyond our expectations.
"It truly is quite humbling."

Ms Bentley said feedback from participants of the Hungry for Change Appeal has been positive.
She said many of the participating food venues have expressed an interest to support Bendigo Foodshare on-going.
The Good Loaf Bendigo owner Laurie Whelan said it was important to be apart of the fundraiser.
"We've been a long-time supporter of Bendigo Foodshare donating left over food and bread," he said.
"We know how important it is for people with low incomes to call on Bendigo Foodshare in times of need so we couldn't think of a better appeal to support."
