CFA said the blaze had grown to 25 hectares in size.
They said crews navigating through rough terrain in the area.
Twelve Country Fire Authority tankers are currently responding to the blaze near Sidonia Road.
Crews first received the call at 3.50pm and was under control about 5pm.
The twelve crews were from Kyneton, Malmsbury, Carlsruhe, Pastoria and Benloch.
