The Gourmet Traveller Wine's 10th annual Best Cellar Door Awards have judged Mandurang Valley Wines, Sutton Grange Winery, BlackJack Wines, Balgownie Estate and Killiecrankie Wines as among the best in Australia.
Mandurang Valley Wines was awarded the coveted Star Cellar Door, with Wes and Pam Vine at the helm, joined by son, Steve, who manages the estate vineyard, while grandsons Oliver and Tristan assist with the winemaking and at cellar door.
Vigneron Wes Vine said the award gave his business an indication of where it fits in the industry and was a welcome acknowledgement from such a well regarded industry publication.

He said the fact five local wineries had won awards was a fitting tribute to the Bendigo region.
Mr Vine said Mandurang Valley had seen an influx of regional Victorians keen to experience all the Bendigo region had to offer, and that visitors to the winery often spoke of where else they had been and what other local attractions they had enjoyed.
Other Gourmet Traveller Wine award winners included Sutton Grange Winery - best large cellar door, and Balgownie Estate - cellar door with best food and accommodation.
BlackJack Wines was named the region's best tasting experience and Killiecrankie Wines the best additional cellar door experience (Art and Concerts).
Bendigo Winegrowers Association vice-president Ken Gilchrist said being recognised in this manner for quality wines and cellar door experiences was always a boost for the region.
"This is such wonderful news for the Bendigo region after the year we've had, and our wineries love having visitors and locals back to their cellar doors," he said.
Gourmet Traveller WINE writer, Brendan Black, had high praise for the Bendigo region.
"The city has developed dramatically in terms of its art and food culture, with excellent restaurants and cafes, and a world-class art gallery.
"Bendigo's winemakers have also stayed busy, moving with the times in an effort to satisfy the modern push for more fruit-forward, easy-drinking wines."
