Local management team members Jo Boyd and Jodie McGregor are both excited to see the event go ahead after last year's cancellation.
Ms McGregor said this year would be a "low key event", meaning there would be no cloakroom, no marquees or warm-up.
"There will be a COVIDSafe check-in space with COVID safety officers on the ground as well," she said.
"While we won't have the big fanfare, you can choose to register to do it in their own time.
"It will be about rallying people together who have been touched by breast cancer or know someone that has.
"It will be much, much different to what we have had in previous years due to COVID."
It will be the 12th time Bendigo residents have stepped out to walk, run or jog for breast cancer, with only a break during the COVID-19 crisis.
Ms McGregor said it was important to run the event this year.
"We weren't sure if we were going to host it initially due to the COVID restrictions and requirements," she said.
"But because breast cancer impacts so many people, that spurred us on to hold the event and to get the community spirit up and running again and to get people out and moving.
"We want to bring the community back together."
Pets are also welcome, however they must be registered before the event. Participating pets will receive a bandana.
More news:
Ms McGregor thanked the City of Greater Bendigo and all volunteers for their ongoing support.
She said the team was looking for more volunteers on the day.
Locals will need to be aware of the closure of Cousins Street between 6am-12pm on the day.
The Mother's Day Classic will run on Sunday May 9 at Beischer Park - Reservoir Road, Strathdale.
Participants can register here.
