The World War II Harvard will be piloted by Flight Lieutenant Guy Bourke from the RAAF's Air Force Heritage 100 Squadron, based at Point Cook.

The aircraft was manufactured in North America and was originally known as a T-6 Texan, but is better known as the 'Harvard' in Commonwealth Air Forces.

The Harvard has enjoyed a diverse history since it rolled off the assembly line, and has at various times served as an administrative support and as an aircraft used for training with the Royal New Zealand Air Force almost 80 years ago.

The RAAF acquired the Harvard in 2017 from a private owner to serve as a tail wheel training aircraft for historical aircraft pilots - a role it continues to this day.

Bendigo residents are encouraged to turn their eyes to the sky on Sunday morning, with the World War II Harvard scheduled to fly north-east to south-west along Pall Mall during the window of 10am to 10.10am, just prior to the veteran march.
