POLICE are investigating a fire at a heritage property in Kangaroo Flat.

Firefighters were called to the old police station at the corner of Camp and Church streets about 2.15am.
Two appliances from the Kangaroo Flat Fire Brigade responded, with support from Fire Rescue Victoria.
Firefighters arrived to find a fire in the doorway to the building, Kangaroo Flat Fire Brigade fourth lieutenant James O'Brien said.
The scene was under control by 2.30am.
Mr O'Brien said the fire appeared to have been deliberately lit.
Bendigo Crime Investigation Unit is making inquiries.
The old police station and quarters are protected by a heritage overlay.
Mr O'Brien said the fire had damaged the building.
