The woman's 14-year-old son was granted bail on Monday after fronting a children's court for repeatedly breaching his previous bail conditions.
The court heard the teen, who is facing charges including aggravated burglary, broke his curfew six times between April 1 and April 9.
The boy's mother also gave evidence that her son was under the influence of drugs or alcohol on at least two occasions.
The woman told the court she contacted police about the breaches and would do so again if needed.
But she said her son should be bailed because he would receive more support in the community than in a youth justice facility.
The woman told the court her main concern was her son's drug use and his behaviour while under the influence.
But she said during her son's previous stint in detention, he received no counselling treatment or education support.

The mother told the magistrate she had several appointments lined up for her son to receive mental health treatment and other services.
The woman said she had not been contacted or received any support from child protection services despite her repeated pleas.
The 14-year-old boy's defence lawyer told the children's court the child protection officers had a brief phone call with the boy several weeks ago but were yet to provide any further support.
The lawyer said the real problem was the lack of services available to help the teen get back on track.
The magistrate released the boy on bail, but warned if he kept offending or breached bail, he would return to a youth justice facility.
The boy is due to return to the children's court later this month.
