POLICE have urged people to lock their cars, after five cars were rifled through near Castlemaine during the weekend.

Four of the cars were unlocked.
Sergeant Trevor Bailey said the series of thefts and attempted thefts took place between 7pm on Saturday and 9am on Sunday in Campbells Creek.

He said the cars were parked in driveways on Moscript Street and Fryers Road.
Sergeant Bailey urged people to avoid leaving valuables visible in their cars and to make sure they locked the doors.
