The teenager this week appeared in court via video link to make a bail application.
Police had searched an address the previous day, claiming to have unearthed drugs, a black taser, ammunition shells, fireworks, a Stihl chainsaw, and $1025 in cash.
The teen was charged with trafficking and possessing ecstasy in December. Police allege two teens at a party that day bought $100 worth of MDMA from the accused.
One of the teens started to feel unwell after the drugs were consumed, the court heard. Police said the boy was found unresponsive and frothing at the mouth.
He was taken to hospital but never recovered. The boy's life support was turned off days later.
Investigations into the boy's death are still ongoing.
Police had received video evidence concerning the sale of the drugs, the court heard.
Thirteen of the charges against the youth related to the items discovered during the police search.
The court heard more than 30 grams of cannabis was discovered, along with 4.72g of ketamine, 0.92g of cannabis, and 0.43g of amphetamine.
Police allege the chainsaw was stolen, and the cash was suspected to be the proceeds of criminal activity.
An exercise book was discovered at the address detailing cash amounts, but not drug quantities.
The teen was charged with both trafficking and possessing ketamine, cocaine, cannabis, and amphetamine.
Other charges included possessing a prohibited weapon, possessing cartridge ammunition while not the holder of a firearms licence, and dealing with fireworks.
"It's conceded the allegations before the court are serious," the teen's lawyer said. However, she said charges were contested.
The only evidence before the court in relation to the trafficking charges was quantity, the lawyer said.
She said there was no evidence of scales, baggies or other drug trafficking paraphernalia before the court.
The lawyer said most of the drugs police had accused her client of trafficking were not in traffickable quantities.
The appropriateness of the ecstasy trafficking charge, which related specifically to trafficking to a child, was also queried given the teen's own age at the time of the alleged offending.
Police initially opposed the teen's bail, telling the court he presented an unacceptable risk.
However, the police prosecutor said his concerns were largely mitigated by the teen's father, who provided evidence during the bail application.
"I don't want any drugs in my home," the teen's father told the court.
He promised to notify authorities if his son breached the bail terms.
The magistrate said he was satisfied there were compelling reasons for the teen's bail.
He ordered that the teen reside with his father and not leave the home between the hours of 8pm and 7am unless in the company of his father.
The teen was not to attend licensed premises or gaming venues. The bail conditions also prohibited him from using drugs.
Any visitors would have to be approved by the teen's father.
The teen was ordered not to use social media or a mobile phone other than his father's, with supervision.
"If you get on any social media at all you'll be in breach of bail," the magistrate said.
The teen's own phone was in the possession of police. Police had not been given access to the teen's phone, the court heard.
The magistrate told the young man to reflect on the impact the allegations were having on his father, who had to get in the witness box and promise to dob his son in if he breached bail.
The teen was bailed to re-appear before the court in June.
