FUNDRAISERS
BLUES CLUB FUNDRAISER
The Union Street Blues Club is a not for profit organisation with like-minded musicians getting together for social and musical interaction.
This club also provides a yearly award for a young musician at each of the four secondary colleges in Bendigo.
At the weekend the club will host an upbeat event with bands such as Misty Road, Lost in Transit and Driving South.
Entry is $5 and table bookings can be made by contacting Bill Makeham on 0499 989 066.

BLUE DAY
The KG Social Group of Aviva Communities is hosting a Blue Day for Men's Health fundraiser.
The social group is run by volunteers and is not for profit.
All monies raised will go towards the local Bendigo branch of Men's Health.
There will be guest speaker, Mr Peter Strange, a nurse practitioner for Men's Health and he will speak about all aspects of the topic.
This fundraiser will include raffles with prizes such as a Mason's Restaurant voucher, Bunnings voucher, spa-massage treatment and many other great prizes.
The event will also feature trading tables, mystery tables, a fashion parade of blue, a morning tea and much more.
Entry is a gold coin donation. All welcome.

CHILDREN'S AND FAMILY EVENTS
POTTERY DECORATING
Enjoy the school holidays with Bendigo Pottery's decorating classes.
Choose a plate, mug or bowl and paint it with your own design.
A regional artist will guide attendees on how to use brushes and other materials to place a design on the pottery.
After the workshop, a glaze will be put over the design and the pieces will be fired for everyday use.
Sessions run for an hour, $25 a person, any ages.
Please bring a mask for COVID-19 regulations.

CHICKEN CHASE
Collect an entry form from your library and solve a secret chicken-themed message to earn a reward.
This fun task is suitable for young families and will have chicken posters located within the library for you to find.

WORRY WARRIORS
Suitable for those aged five to eight, this event allows children to take on their worries and turn them into something small.
There will be great stories and leaning techniques on creating worry dolls.

WOMBAT WORKSHOP
Illustrator Liz Duthie is hosting an event to show children how to create a wombat drawing of their own.
Suitable for children aged eight to 12, this event will teach children important drawing and painting skills.

BENDIGO BRICKS 2021
Are you interested in seeing what can be created with Lego?

VISHU FESTIVAL
The Hindu community of Bendigo will celebrate Vishu - also known as Bihu or Visaki - at the weekend.
This festival will celebrate the agricultural heritage of Hinduism that dates back to a time where farmers would display their yields in front of Lord Vishnu and pray for the well-being of family and society.
This event will host a vegetarian meal, traditional art forms performances, games, children's fun and many more activities.

ARCHIVE OPEN DAY
The Tarnagulla History Archive is a place for all things related to the history of the town and surrounding districts.
At these open days, visitors are able to view displays of historical images, footage and artefacts; have family history questions answered by a local historian; lodge research requests; buy books; volunteer; and register as a donor.

Enjoy a meal and a chat this week ahead.
This social event is for those aged 55 and over, and will run every week on Tuesdays. This social meeting has no joining fees.

ROCKING DANCE
The Spring Gully Dance committee will host two evenings of community fun with these dances.

EXHIBITIONS
'AFTER ALL THIS TIME'
After All This Time is an exhibition by digital illustrator and painter Sarah McDonald, who is inspired by the green spaces of her hometown.
This exhibition explores a return to childhood with the art making that was lost somewhere after art school.

NATURE ARTISTS
Naturally Inspired showcases how botanicals and flora can signify cultural, historic, geographic, social and scientific ideas.
The exhibition features 12 professional artists from the Bendigo Botanic Gardens illustrators, contemporary and traditional nature artists known as the Friday Group.
These works explore a relationship of plants and nature.
The Friday Group was founded in 2005 and was originally led by formally trained artists.
The popularity of the group is increasing every year with up to 15 regulars.

OPEN GARDEN SCULPTURE EXHIBITION
Back open for another year of showcasing sculptures is the Mica Grange open garden sculpture exhibition.
This exhibition features sculptors from Victoria, NSW and South Australia.
There will be morning and afternoon teas, light lunches, garden art, plants and preserves for sale.

18 FAMILIES
18 Families is an exhibition by First Nations artist James Henry.
This exhibition recognises the 18 ancestors whose descendants make up the thriving Jaara community who live in, around and beyond Castlemaine today.
James Henry presents photographs of four families on country or in local parks, with the desire to photograph all 18 Families over time.

HEAVENLY
Heavenly is the latest exhibition from the Castlemaine Costume Museum, a privately owned collection of fashion, ephemera, and stories.
Christening gowns, baptismal bonnets and capes, hand-stitched French first communion outfits, accessories and more will all feature in this exhibition.
While the exhibition features costumes from the 1850s to 1970s, there is a focus on the transitional bridal fashion through the 1960s.

MARY QUANT: FASHION REVOLUTIONARY
The Bendigo Art Gallery is proud to present Mary Quant: Fashion Revolutionary, an exhibition on the British fashion designer Dame Mary Quant.
The exhibition is on loan from the Victorian and Albert Museum in London and showcases the peak of Quant's career with never-before-seen fashion and radical designs.
The exhibition brings together more than 110 garments, along with accessories, sketches, photos and much more.

#PEREMPUAN 2021
#Perempuan 2021: Contemporary Indonesian Art is an exhibition that celebrates the unspoken stories of Indonesian women.
The works, selected from the Project Eleven Collection, explore activism and traditions through a broad range of art forms including painting, textiles, sculpture and installation.

ART QUILT EXHIBITION
Textile artists will participate in the sixth biennial Golden Textures Contemporary Art Quilt Exhibition.
One quilt will be selected for the Central Goldfields Art Gallery's permanent collection, with the winner receiving $3000.
The Golden Textures Award celebrates the region's long connection with textiles.
