Benjamin Ato Sam's new recipes will dive deeper into the cuisine of his first home, Ghana, and that of west Africa more broadly.
Mr Ato Sam said the Ras Ato's Healthy Choice Good Vibrations African Cookbook featured dishes, desserts and healthy blended drinks, alongside the background of African stories and games.
The success of the first book - it's now available Australia-wide - inspired Mr Ato Sam to write his second, as he felt as though he hadn't finished all the recipes.
"I thought to myself, 'I would like to write another one, to make it more interesting for people to see a bit of my culture, alongside with the food as well'," he said.
Mr Ato Sam said the Bendigo community loved his first publication, with people even stopping him on the street to talk about it.
He said most of the recipes had been passed down from generations above. He remembered always being in the kitchen with his mother and grandmother as a child, learning from them.
Mr Ato Sam said after travelling from Africa to Australia, he wanted to share his culture with those around him. He said it felt good to contribute to the community.
"It's a joy and a pleasure for me now to be in Australia, putting my culture out there, sharing all these beautiful recipes from my cookbook," he said.
