This year, while the excitement might not quite resemble pre-COVID-19 times, there is still plenty to see and do.
Eggs-plore Bendigo
"Eggs-plore Bendigo at Easter" is the city's major festivity this year, with events from Holy Thursday to Easter Monday.
Many of the events run each day, with specific entry times and limits - visit here to see all the options and book your timeslot.
The popular Easter book fair will feature a backlog of books that would otherwise have been sold last year at Easter or on the AFL grand final long weekend.
It's on each day across the Easter long weekend, so much sure you book a time and head along.
Another weekend-wide event is the Rotary Easter Art Show.
Hosted by the Bendigo Rotary Club, it features more than 900 works, making it the club's biggest annual Easter show yet.
Other events that run from Good Friday to Easter Monday include Bendigo walking tours and an Easter puzzle trail at Bendigo Pottery.
On Easter Sunday, there's a Citroen car show to enjoy.
Easter Sunday might not include the traditional Easter parade, but the Dragon Mile returns for athletes and spectators alike. There are also more workshops and a disco for children.
Head to Ulumbarra Theatre on Saturday or Sunday to see the Bendigo Chinese Association present a display of traditional Chinese culture such as lion dance, folk dance and kung fu. Book tickets here.
Daily events until Easter Monday include: Active Kids, a Bendigo Woodturners exhibition, a Chinese historical walk, Creative Kids presented by Fosterville Gold, a felt lion plaque workshop, a hidden creature gallery, a hole in one competition, and a PepperGreen Farm Easter workshop. Bendigo Easter Blues Bender
More than 40 acts will converge on Bendigo throughout the next few days for the Easter Blues Bender.
Hosted by the Bendigo Blues and Roots Music Festival, the event features live music at various locations across the city.
Among the venues hosting acts is The Metropolitan Hotel, which traditionally fills Bull Street with music over the Easter weekend.
Artists include Bill Barber, Sherri Parry, Alawishus Jones & The Outright Lies, Erica Hawkey Band and David Turpie.

Maldon Easter Fair
Maldon will have plenty of action throughout the long weekend, from Good Friday to Easter Monday.
Events include a torchlight procession, dancing in the streets, a scone bake competition and performances from the Maldon brass band.
Easter Saturday will feature a hole in one competition and the Beehive Chimney Easter market.
Easter Monday brings with it the annual Easter Grand Procession, a parade which features all things "Maldon".
The annual Easter Machinery Rally, hosted by the Maldon Vintage Machinery Museum, is also a highlight of the weekend. Learn more about the festivities here.
