The 46-year-old appeared in the Bendigo Magistrates' Court this week where he pleaded guilty to three charges, including breaching a family violence intervention order.

The court heard on August 26, 2019, a final intervention order was issued with the man's former partner as the protected person.

Under the order, the man was not allowed to contact the woman in any capacity.

The court heard on August 29, the man used his phone to send the woman 16 text messages between 9.20am and 7.28pm.

Then between August 30 and September 7, the man sent 104 messages to the woman and transferred $1000 to the woman's bank account.

On September 8, the man sent 15 messages, including several demanding she return the $1000.

The man sent another 24 messages to the woman on September 9, where he abused his former partner and threatened to "burn (her) house down".

Defence lawyer Rebecca Healy told the court the man had not committed any further crimes since the 2019 offending.

Ms Healy said her client had ended the relationship with the woman and was no longer in contact with her.

Magistrate Rodney Higgins convicted and fined the man $1500. Mr Higgins warned the man he had "gotten off lightly".
