EASTER EVENTS
EGGS-PLORE BENDIGO
Celebrate Easter in Bendigo this year with Eggs-plore Bendigo.
This COVID-safe Easter festival will host a wide range of family friendly activities and include lots of entertainment.
Good Friday will have walks around Bendigo and explore its Chinese history; children's active and creative events; book fair; movies in parks and many art shows.
Saturday and Easter Sunday will feature the above and a farm workshop at Peppergreen farm; Hole in One competition; Easter Puzzle Trail at Bendigo Pottery; a car show; Discovery Centre activities; the Bendigo Bank Dragon Mile and much more.
Monday will conclude the celebrations with walking tours; book fair; Puzzle Trail and Rotary Art Show.

MALDON EASTER FAIR
The Maldon Easter Fair is one of the oldest in Australia, starting in 1878.
This 144th event will include the Easter Parade Grand Procession on Easter Monday and will feature a wide collection of all things Maldon, from the fire trucks through to penny farthing bikes.
There will also be a Hole in One competition and the annual Easter Machinery Rally.
The Easter events will also include a torchlight procession, Dancing in the Streets, a scone bake competition, Maldon brass band and more.

EXHIBITIONS AND PERFORMANCES
OPEN GARDEN SCULPTURE EXHIBITION
Back open for another year of showcasing sculptures is the Mica Grange Open Garden Sculpture Exhibition.
This exhibition will be running until April 25 and will feature sculptors from Victoria, New South Wales and South Australia.
There will be morning and afternoon teas, light lunches, garden art, plants and preserves for sale.
Group bookings are available throughout the week.

PETER SHEAHAN'S WALK UP
Peter Shehan's Walk Up's have been raising money for various foundations for 10 years.
This weekend, head to the All Seasons Hotel and raise monies for the Bendigo Health Intensive Care Auxiliary.
This event will include performances by Les Smith, Dawn Gerrish, Leigh Bice, Sandy Thomson, Evelyn Sheahan, Ken Bice, Olive Bice, Bendigo Bill, Rod Fraser, Floreena Forbes, Rod Briant, Annette Sharp, Kevin Moore and many, many more.
Walk up artists are welcome.
Afternoon tea will be supplied, there will also be lucky people prizes.

MARY QUANT: FASHION REVOLUTIONARY
The Bendigo Art Gallery is proud to present Mary Quant: Fashion Revolutionary, an exhibition on the British fashion designer Dame Mary Quant.
The exhibition is on loan from the Victorian and Albert Museum in London and showcases the peak of Quant's career with never-before-seen fashion and radical designs.
The exhibition brings together more than 110 garments, along with accessories, sketches, photos and much more.

PALM SUNDAY CONCERT
The Bendigo Symphony Orchestra presents its Palm Sunday Concert.
This concert will feature works such as Beethoven's Symphony No.3 and Warlock's Capriol Suite.
There will also be the world premiere of Ex Post Facto: Concerto for saxophone and strings composed by the orchestra's musical director, Luke Severn.
The work will feature renowned saxophone soloist, Joseph Lallo.
Adults $25, concession $20, student (up to 16 years) $10 and children under 10 have free entry.

#PEREMPUAN 2021
#Perempuan 2021: Contemporary Indonesian Art is an exhibition that celebrates the unspoken stories of Indonesian women.
The works, selected from the Project Eleven Collection, explore activism and traditions through a broad range of art forms including painting, textiles, sculpture and installation.

OUTDOOR CONCERT
This free, community concert will feature Bobby Valentine and the Band of Renown.
The event is a Redesdale and District Association initiative and funded by the City of Greater Bendigo.
As part of the Summer in the Parks celebration and to encourage health and well being, this concert takes place.
Bobby has been a professional entertainer for over 30 years working in various bands based in Melbourne and appearing nationally and internationally.
He has worked with Stevie Wonder, Whitney Houston, Rod Stewart and all Australian legends.

HOUSE OF FLUX
House of Flux is an exhibition by artist, Nikita Hendrics, showing layered photo-media made inside the home.
This exhibition is free to attend and is located in the Living Arts Space.

ART QUILT EXHIBITION
Textile artists will be participating in the 6th Biennial Golden Textures Contemporary Art Quilt Exhibition.
One quilt will be selected for the Central Goldfields Art Gallery's permanent collection, with the winner receiving $3000.
The Golden Textures Award celebrates the region's long connection with textiles.

SUSTAINABLE LIVING FESTIVAL
The family friendly Sustainable Living Festival 2021 aims to showcase the best of sustainable products, programs, goods and services that are active in central Victoria.
There will be speakers throughout the day, informing of sustainable products or services with keynote speaker, Jerry Coleby-Williams, a horticultural botanist and presenter on ABC TV's Gardening Australia program.
Cola Sola will be there to advise on solar power with their Nissan Leaf on display and Coliban Water will be discussing the Choose Tap campaign, which promotes the benefits of tap water for a healthy lifestyle and as a positive alternative to bottled water.
There will also be stallholders such as The Connected Circus, ENJO, EnviroShop Newstead, Goldfields Revegetation, Grassroots Movement Haircare, and many more.

FRINGE FESTIVAL
The Castlemaine Fringe Festival is hosting a massive program of free events over three weeks.
The festival will feature various dance, music, performances, treasure maps, art exhibitions, street parties, picnics in the park and so much more.

CASTLEMAINE STATE FESTIVAL
Get your family together for a trip to Castlemaine for their State Festival.
This event returns to the region with various visual arts, performances, music, workshops, outdoor activities and much more.
People of all ages will be entertained with events by One Sky Many Stories featuring Indigenous storytelling; Hear Here pop up radio station; INSIDE OUT Castlemaine; and more.
Music will include genres from classical through to contemporary with artists such as, Cathy-Di Zhang, Josh Teskey and Ash Grunwald, Jess Hitchcock, Lior, Allara, The Melbourne Mandolin Orchestra and others.
Topics will be discussed through various programs and performers will showcase their works in theatre.

BENDIGO PRIDE
Join in with like-minded locals and celebrate pride in Bendigo.

COMMUNITY EVENTS
ISLAMIC MOSAIC PROJECT
Held over two sessions, 9.30am - 11am and 11.30am - 1pm, this event will feature talented ceramicist, Kerry Punton, creating ceramic tiles of a classic Islamic design.
In doing so, these tiles will form an Islamic mosaic which will be permanently installed in the atrium of the new Kangaroo Flat Library.

DEBORAH TRIANGLE
Join in on an online chat with LGBTIQAA+ youth creators and Deborah Triangle.
This event is hosted as part of a series of workshops by Arena Theatre, Castlemaine Youth Theatre and the Bendigo Library and will include a Q&A.

COMMUNITY LUNCH
Meet your local community members, catch up with old friends or just find out what's going on in Castlemaine, this community lunch will make you feel welcome.
This event has been running over 25 years and is a place to enjoy a two-course vegetarian meal.
The menu showcases the region's seasonal fresh vegetables and fruit.
Cost: $5 donation, children under 12 years old free entry.

VINTAGE SPORTS CAR SPRINTS
The annual Eddington Vintage Sports Car Club Sprints event is a traditional quarter mile single car sprint.
This event will have drivers running their cars as fast as they can down 400 metres of closed road.
Cars compete individually against a clock to set the fastest time.

LUNCH AND CHAT
Enjoy a meal and a chat this week ahead.

BENDIGO WINEMAKERS FESTIVAL
Celebrate Bendigo's great wine and food at this returning festival.
The Strategem Bendigo Winemakers Festival will bring local wines, regional food and live music to the region in April.
Tickets are $60 Saturday and $55 for Sunday, under 18's have free entry.
