Also finding success on what was an action-packed night on the circuit was Jay Nicolaisen who won the sports sedans final, Daniel Wilson in the GV open sedans, Warren Alexander in the GV productions, Connor Claridge in GV juniors and Belinda Chalcraft in the GV ladies sedans.
There were six qualifying races to arrange the starting positions for the Grand Prix Midgets where Gary Bowyer, Cecil (two wins), Ashley Booker (two wins) and Rod Saville shared the heat wins.
The starting positions were now set for the twenty-lap title battle which saw Booker, Cecil, Saville, Bowyer and Blackeby round out the top six. Cecil led the race from the start with defending champion Saville hot on his heels.
By the end of the battle it was Cecil still in the lead, with a narrow one second buffer over Saville, followed by Booker in third, Janelle Saville in fourth and Alex Myer's in fifth.
The next race event at Rushworth Speedway is Saturday April 10.
