Opening the Shine Bright Early Years Hub on Tuesday, Bendigo West MP Maree Edwards said it was important to invest in the educational future of the next generation.
The new early years hub will deliver a new early learning centre with a capacity of 152, 120 new four-year-old kindergarten places, 60 three-year-old kindergarten places and long day care to support working families.
"Creating more places for Maiden Gully children to attend kindergarten and ensuring their access to the best facilities across Victoria is vital to ensuring a world-class education in the early years," Ms Edwards said.
"We understand the importance of early years education - that's why Building Blocks invests in the next generation of learners."
The hub will also have allied health and medical practitioners on site, it is hoped that early assessment of developmental issues, intervention and support will be offered as a wrap around service model of education, childcare and health support for children and their families.
"We are investing in the educational future of our next generation of learners and ensuring they can access the best education close to home," Ms Edwards said.
"Investing in the early years is vital to encouraging a strong educational future and fostering a lifelong love of learning - that's why we are the education state."
The facility is designed to offer professional development and training opportunities for the 200 Shine Bright staff and non-staff.
Options to involve third party entities such as La Trobe University and TAFE are also being explored.
The project received $1.6 Million in state government funding under the government's building blocks program.
