Heavy rains have lashed parts of NSW for days, with more than 18,000 residents forced to evacuate their homes because of the flooding.
SES north-west regional duty officer Peter Patterson said two central Victorians have been deployed to help - a Bendigo staff member and a senior volunteer from Castlemaine.
Mr Patterson said the pair left at the weekend and were expected to return to Victoria after a five-day shift.
"They're looking for a very defined skill set," he said. "We have people who have expressed an interest in helping but we're waiting for future requests.
"Unfortunately for general members, many may not have the right skill sets. But that may change as the week progresses."
Mr Patterson said the two SES members could be moved around to different parts of NSW.
"It could be Newcastle or further up north or further south in Wollongong," he said. "We get advised what's required from state headquarters and we work with those requirements."

The Country Fire Authority also deployed 16 members to help with the flooding disaster.
State duty officer Peter Baker said there could be further CFA deployments later this week.
"The situation in New South Wales has been declared a natural disaster and when we receive a call for assistance, we do what we can to help out," he said.
"I acknowledge the work done by every agency at every level to help coordinate this deployment. CFA is proud to be part of Victoria's emergency services working as one."
Fire Rescue Victoria commissioner Ken Block said 16 swift water rescue specialists were also deployed to Bega and Moruya, along with three incident management staff who would be assisting in Bankstown and Goulburn.
