Under the latest round of the 2020-21 volunteer emergency services equipment program, the grants will go towards essential operational vehicles, appliances and minor facility improvements for local volunteers.
CFA Eaglehawk secretary Noah Chislett said his unit will receive $53,333 and they will use the funding to purchase a new field command vehicle.
"It's been great to receive funding and our current FCV is a 2009 model so it's good to get a more updated model," he said.
"The new style of FCV that we are getting has a pod on the back of it which will allow us to carry more gear with us.
"It also has some upgraded features such as being able to use radio communication, it can also be used as a people carrier to fires and also for strike teams when they are deployed across the state as required."
Mr Chislett said it was important funding like this remains available for local emergency services units.
"The funds that go into purchasing some of these specialist vehicles can't always be fundraised by the brigade for such a large amount," he said.
"It is critical to us to be able to maintain newer and upgraded fleet to meet the community requirements."
Woodvale CFA will receive $1765 for an electric pump and piping for their station.
Bendigo East MP Jacinta Allan said the annual grants program gives volunteer emergency service groups the opportunity to apply for grants of up to $150,000 to purchase equipment including vehicles, trucks, tankers, watercraft and trailers, and for minor improvements including refurbishments and amenities, such as kitchens and change rooms.
"These important projects will give our hardworking CFA volunteers in Bendigo East the equipment and amenities needed to effectively carry out their duties," she said.
"I'd like to thank all of our volunteer groups for their hard work and congratulate the successful applicants in the 2020-21 round of VESEP grants."
