The Macedon Ranges Highway Patrol were called to the collision in Malmsbury at 10.30am on Friday.
The 48-year-old male driver from Kingston lost control of the 12-ton truck, colliding with the wire rope barriers separating the north and south-bound traffic.

Police said it was fortunate no other vehicles were involved in the crash.
The man was not injured but the truck was extensively damaged.
The 48-year-old returned a positive roadside drug test but refused a secondary test.
He will be charged on summons for refusing a mandatory drug test, which carries a minimum penalty of two years loss of license.
