On Sunday, the nine-year-old cut her almost waist-length locks after raising thousands for the Leukaemia Foundation and the World's Greatest Shave.
As of Tuesday afternoon, Indiana had raised more than $5500.
More news:
Her father Lincoln Francis-Wright said Indiana made the decision to cut her hair on her own.
"We spent most of the year in Byron Bay last year and met a couple of kids who inspired courage and different approaches to things," he said.
"Indiana decided off her own bat she would like to shave her head for a worthy cause.
"There was not a moment of hesitation. We had been talking about it for about 10 months and she refused to go to the hairdresser to get her hair as long as she could with the aim of donating hair to a wigmaker as well.
"We will keep her fundraiser open for a couple more days and hopefully get it closer to $7000 by the time it is finished. It's a huge effort."
Indiana's aunty, a trained hairdresser, shaved her niece's head after family and friends trimmed small locks off on the weekend.
"She was sitting up there smiling with her feet twitching. She said excited but a bit nervous - as you would be when you're about to go through a big change," Mr Francis-Wright said.
"She was a bit emotional after but she marched off to school on Monday with her head up, chest out, shoulders back and proud.
"She's got the biggest heart and is so kind and caring to other people. It may be the start of many charitable events she contributes to in one way or another in the future.
"We just want to thank everyone who came and supported Indiana and the event."
