A TEEN who tried to escape from a youth justice centre has been given a good behaviour bond.
The 19-year-old appeared in court last week where he admitted to the offending.
The court heard about 4.25pm on March 19, 2019, a group of boys set upon a worker at the Malmsbury Youth Justice Centre.

One of the boys attempted to grab the worker's key pass so they could leave through the facility's restricted area.
The worker was able to stop him, but more boys came at the man, surrounding him.
The court heard the worker feared the boys would assault him, so the man removed his belt where the key pass was and gave it to the boys.
One of the boys opened the door to the restricted area and several rushed out, including the now 19-year-old boy.
The court heard the teen ran through the restricted area but other youth justice workers restrained and arrested him before he could leave the centre.
The entire incident was captured on CCTV footage. The teen declined a police interview.

The teen's defence lawyer told the court the boy was only 18 years old at the time of the offending.
The lawyer said his client had received punishment at the facility, including losing his television privileges.
The defence lawyer said the boy had one prior matter, which was why he was at the Malmsbury Youth Justice Centre in the first place.
He said that matter had resolved and the boy was currently on parole for that offending.
The defence lawyer said the teen had been engaging well with youth justice and it would be detrimental to his progress if he was given more time in custody.
The magistrate agreed, saying it would be a "significant step backwards" for the boy if he was detained again.
The 19-year-old was instead given a eight-month good behaviour bond for the offending.
