Featuring a stellar local cast and creative staging, Go Back For Murder is one of the first drama being presented by a local theatre company for almost 12 months.
The Agatha Christie murder mystery was originally written as a Hercule Poirot novel titled Five Little Pigs. The stage play does not feature the Poirot character with solicitor Justin Fogg (played by Nick O'Meara) taking his place.

It follows Carla Crale who believes her mother, who died in prison was wrongly convicted of the murder of her father 16 years earlier. Carla steels herself to interview the suspects and uncover the true killer.
Saari Frochot-Chauhan takes on the lead role of Carla and also portrays Carla's mother Caroline in the flashback scenes of the story. It is a huge challenge for the Frochot-Chauhan who is involved in every scene of the play but one she takes on with confidence and skill.
Supporting Frochot-Chauhan and O'Meara are Tania Maxwell, Thomas Moore, Craig Sheppard, Tara Glozier and Sharon Newth as the play's prime suspects. Each performer does a good job of turning the spotlight of suspicion on and off them through the story.
Zeljka Vanis plays famed artist and murder victim Amyas Cale while up-and-comer Jacob Baird and community theatre veteran John Moore also turn in good performances.
Director Wendy Collishaw has been creative with the staging of her production with a stark white background and red lining to simulate an evidence board that connects each suspect to the scene of the crime. Combined with the ornate feeling of View Street venue Temperance Hall, it creates a strong atmosphere.
The Synchronicity team has also added a strong flavour of Australiana by setting the play in Victoria rather than England.
Synchonicity have developed a COVID-safe event with hand sanitisers, socially distanced seating and a sign-in book for audience members.
The care and though put into the Go Back For Murder makes it an ideal way for the region's audiences to return to the theatre.
Synchronicity's murder mystery production is wonderfully staged and performed and opens this weekend.
Go Back For Murder is on at Temperance Hall, 20 View Street, from March 6, 7, 11, 12 and 13 at 8pm and March 6, 7 and 13 at 2pm. Visit www.gotix.com.au for tickets.
