Golden Square Bowls Club hosts two intriguing division one semi-finals.
For the majority of the BBD weekend pennant home and away season, Eaglehawk sat comfortably inside the top two spots on the ladder.
A late form slump hurt the Hawks and now they're one loss away from the end of their season.
They haven't won a match since January 23 and head into the finals low on confidence.
On Saturday they face BBD power Bendigo East in a cut-throat semi-final.
East's up and down form makes it a tricky opponent.
The Beasties best form is as good as any team in the competition, but they've struggled to produce it on a consistent basis.
Two weeks ago they outplayed the minor premiers Kangaroo Flat by 20 shots, but last week lost to Castlemaine by 16 shots.
The Hawks and Beasties only met once in the home and away season.
In round five, the Hawks won an enthralling battle by just six shots.
Their round 12 clash was abandoned because of the COVID-19 lockdown.
The winner of Saturday's Eaglehawk-East game will advance to the preliminary final where they'll face the loser of the major semi-final battle between Kangaroo Flat and South Bendigo.
The winner of the Flat-South clash advances straight to the grand final.
There's expected to be little between the top two teams on the ladder.
The Roos have been the best performed team all season, but reigning premier South has peaked in the run home to the finals.
In round 8, Flat and South played out a thrilling 76-76 draw.
The Roos won three of the four rinks that day, but South's Luke Hoskin scored a 31-10 win over Cameron Keenan to keep his side in the match.
Their other encounter was in the opening round of the season where the Roos scored a comfortable 18-shot win.
