Lucia Dingfelder, 22, was sentenced in the Bendigo Magistrates' Court on Thursday after she pleaded guilty to charges including robbery.

The court heard on January 21 this year, Dingfelder was at an address in King Street, Bendigo when a vehicle pulled up out the front.

Dingfelder went outside and recognised a woman in the car. The court heard the woman was allegedly being held against her will, accused of stealing a watch.

Dingfelder grabbed the woman, dragging her out of the vehicle and began punching her to the head and kicking her while she was on the road.

The other occupants of the car drove away but Dingfelder continued to assault the victim.

The court heard Dingfelder then grabbed the woman's phone, demanded the phone's password, and returned inside the property with the mobile.

Dingfelder was arrested and questioned. She told police she could not remember the incident but said she knew the victim and other occupants of the car.

Dingfelder also pleaded guilty to drugs charges after she was found with heroin, methamphetamine, and cannabis in September 2019.

Defence lawyer Robert Timms last week told the court Dingfelder was a young woman who had a drug addiction, and that the offending was opportunistic rather than premeditated.

Magistrate Megan Aumair said Dingfelder's actions were "violent" and "inexcusable".

Ms Aumair said while the 22-year-old had a significant criminal history, she was still a young offender.

"At the forefront of my mind is rehabilitation," the magistrate said. "You are not beyond rehabilitation."

Ms Aumair convicted and sentenced Dingfelder to six months in jail, with 27 days reckoned as already served.

She was ordered to complete a 12-month community corrections order when released.

If Dingfelder did not plead guilty, she would have been sentenced to 18 months in prison with a non-parole period of 12 months.
