FESTIVALS AND FAIRS
HEATHCOTE COMMUNITY FESTIVAL
The Heathcote Community Festival will be held over the Labour Day long weekend with a theme of celebrating diversity and community spirit.
There will be food trucks, market stalls and live entertainment.
Bonnie Anderson will headline, along with performances from Mariah McCarthy and seven piece Melbourne funk band, That Gold Street Sound.
This festival will be centered around the Bush Market which will continue through to the evening.

HARCOURT APPLEFEST
The Harcourt Applefest is a much loved event that takes place in Harcourt nearly every year.
This year's festival is a little different due to COVID-19 regulations, but there is still something for everyone to enjoy.
There will be an Art Show and market at ANA Hall over the weekend.
This Art Show will include produce, art and children's activities.
On Monday, there will be an Organic Farming Co-Op Tour which will show what hard work can achieve when farming.

PRIDE FESTIVAL
Join Deborah Triangle for a few drinks and a dance to celebrate the opening of the Bendigo Pride Festival 2021.
Wear your best rainbow colours and mask (for COVID-safe regulations) and enjoy a night out.

EARLY YEARS MEETING
Goldfields Libraries is working to develop a plan for library services across the region and are calling for the community's opinions.

BOOK LAUNCH
Hear about the life of Sandhurst's favourite pioneers, William Heffernan, who was prominent in the roaring days of the gold rushes with this insight into Mary Healy's new book, Heffernan of the Shamrock: The Story of Sandhurst's Famed Hoteliers.
Healy provides a fascinating look into the impoverished conditions in Ireland, where Heffernan travelled the world seeking a better life for himself and his family.
He established The Shamrock Hotel and his 30 year tenure of the hotel mirrored the rise of Sandhurst as the world's richest goldfield.
This new book is a worthwhile addition to the library of those who are fascinated with early Australian history and its Irish influences. $35 per book.

WOMEN'S DAY BREAKFAST
All who identify as a woman from a culturally diverse background are invited to this Women's Day breakfast.
This event is a great chance for you to meet other multicultural women in the region and to try new foods, all in celebration of International Women's Day.

SPRING GULLY DANCE
The Sping Gully Dance committee will be hosting a get together for an evening of community fun.

EXHIBITIONS
FAR FROM THE EYE
La Trobe University is pleased to announce a new exhibition by Danica Chappell.
This exhibition is in conjunction with PHOTO 2021 International Festival of Photography and features a major new series of work by the Australian photographer.
These images respond to the nature of the paper, chemicals and processes of photographic production and the works explore her history in photography.

CASCADE ART GALLERY
Cascade Art Gallery is proud to be opening their first exhibition in 12 months, all within the newly builty gallery space.
This event is a preview of the exhibition, which are recent paintings by David Moore.
This preview opening will also include a new book by Kareen Anchen and will be officially opened by Fine Art Valuer and Assessor, Peter Perry.

ART QUILT EXHIBITION
Textile artists will be participating in the 6th Biennial Golden Textures Contemporary Art Quilt Exhibition this week.
One quilt will be selected for the Central Goldfields Art Gallery's permanent collection, with the winner receiving $3000.
The Golden Textures Award celebrates the region's long connection with textiles.
