Seymour and Stepien both posted another big score in the latest round of Victorian Premier Cricket to remind state selectors of their class.
Seymour posted a superb 113 not out - his second ton of the season in Essendon's win over the Camberwell Magpies.
Seymour hit 10 fours and two sixes in his 133-ball knock.
The century took his season tally to 651 runs for the Premier Cricket season in nine games.
He's second in the run scorers list behind Geelong's Eamonn Vines (741), however Seymour has played three less games than his Cats' rival.
Seymour has a league best average of 108.50.
Seymour also took one wicket with the ball on Saturday, while his team-mate and former Sandhurst star Liam Bowe continued his good form with figures of 3-55.
Carlton star Stepien was at his brilliant best as he tore apart the Kingston Hawthorn attack.
Stepien raced to his half-century off just 20 balls before being dismissed for 81 off 49 balls.
The left-hander hit six fours and six sixes to set up Carlton's total of 6-310.
Stepien has scored 487 runs in just eight games and his strike rate of 123.6 is clearly the best in the top 15 run scorers in the competition.
Stepien has hit a league best 22 sixes for the season.
His Blues' team-mate Xavier Crone also had a good day with the bat on Saturday.
Crone blasted 31 not out off just 12 balls, including three sixes.
Crone also took 1-43 with the ball as Carlton bowled Kingston Hawthorn out for 155.
Meanwhile, former Sandhurst junior Damon Egan made 58 not out in Prahran's comfortable eight-wicket win over Greenvale.
Sandhurst premiership player Todd Murphy had figures of 2-30 in St Kilda's loss to Geelong.
