The home is now without a roof.
Firefighters issued a public alert for three suburbs because of the smoke issuing from the fire, which remained in place at 6am on Monday morning.

The suburbs were California Gully, Long Gully and North Bendigo.
"The fire is now contained," a version of the alert issued at 2.22am read.
"There is currently no threat to the community, but you should continue to stay informed and monitor conditions."
Firefighters were called to the fire about an hour earlier.
Bendigo police were not called to the fire and no officers have been left to monitor the scene.
