A years-long investigation into what royal commissioners labelled a "shocking tale of neglect" inside Australia's aged-care sector was finally over on Friday, with the commission's report handed to the Governor-General.
The sector, which is predominantly funded by the Commonwealth, has come under increased scrutiny during the pandemic, with 685 aged care residents dying from COVID-19.
