The La Trobe University Bendigo Pioneers girls will challenge themselves this weekend with a match against the Calder Cannons at Epsom.

They head into the match after a loss last weekend against the Geelong Falcons.
"We came up against a more skillful, older side who were well drilled, they left us a little shell shocked certainly in the first half of football," coach Danny O'Bree said.
"To the girls' credit they never dropped their heads and as the game progressed continued to learn and better understand the level of NAB League football that they want and need to aspire to."
They will take all they have learnt this week into Saturday's match against the Cannons, a side which features several VFLW listed athletes.
"Again, this is going to be another great experience for our young side to pit themselves against some talented NAB League girls that are on the list at Calder," O'Bree said.
"The Cannons are coming into the game after a close loss to the Oakleigh Chargers last weekend, so we are going to have to be switched on right from the first bounce on Saturday."
O'Bree praised several of his players' performances last weekend against Geelong.
"Our girls were able to win the clearances around the ground, however unfortunately when Falcons did they were able to capitalise inside 50. Certainly, that is something that we have focused on at training this week." he said.
Ahead of the match with the Cannons the Pioneers have made one change with captain Tara Slender back in action after missing out last week due to concussion.
