VICTORIA has recorded no new COVID-19 cases in the 24-hours to midnight as Bendigo vaccinations build hope that the pandemic is in its final stages.
Authorities have revealed two more people have been deemed to have recovered from the virus.
There are now only 20 active cases in the state.
Bendigo reached a milestone moment on Tuesday when the first aged care residents in the city were vaccinated.
Bentleys Aged Care residents Arthur Eaton and Shirley McDonald, both 96, were among those getting the Pfizer shots.
The vaccine roll-out has bolstered hopes that the pandemic is coming to an end and built confidence after a recent Melbourne outbreak triggered a snap lockdown.
Premier Daniel andrews on Tuesday told reporters that a fourth consecutive day with no new cases was helping pave the way for another easing of restrictions.
AAP reported that the hopes came despite thousands of people self-isolating as precaution following the Holiday Inn outbreak.
