LITTLE more than a month ago nine-year-old Sianha Newland stood in front of her family and received her First Communion from Bishop Joseph Grech.Yesterday her father John took her to the bishop’s funeral to say goodbye.Sianha said she had liked Bishop Grech when she met him before the First Communion celebrations in November.“I met him at my First Communion,” she said. “He was nice. It was a good day.“I got to wear a white dress and shoes and a veil. I think he did (like it).”Mr Newland said it had been Sianha’s choice to attend Bishop Grech’s funeral.“She thought it was important to go,” he said.“It was only a month ago that he did her First Communion, it was so sudden. It’s hard to get your head around.”
