Two new electric vehicle charging stations will be installed at the iconic sports ground as part of the Charging the Regions program.
Delivered by the Central Victorian Greenhouse Alliance, state government and 12 local councils, including Bendigo's, the project aims to install 20 new stations at 17 north west Victorian sites to help boost tourism and reduce carbon emissions.
Bendigo mayor Jennifer Alden said the program laid the groundwork for a comprehensive network of public electric vehicle charging infrastructure in regional Victoria.

"We are delighted to be involved in the program, which will have a positive impact on our environment and create new and exciting opportunities for Greater Bendigo," Cr Alden said.
Two 50 kilowatt chargers will be installed in the QEO car park, behind the Capital Theatre, allowing four cars to charge at once.
The stations feature fast charging technology to allow most battery electric vehicles to fully recharge within one or two hours.
A fee to recharge is yet to be confirmed, but is likely to cover the costs of energy bills council will incur.
"The location of these chargers means that visitors can spend more time in the city centre while charging their car," Cr Alden said.
Council said the chargers' installation is expected to start in the next few months.
