Nearly half a century later, Mr Kuhle has called time on his legal career, which has included lengthy stints in Ballarat, and most recently, a 20-year career in Bendigo at Robertson Hyetts.
Having attended The University of Melbourne, Mr Kuhle moved to Ballarat and undertook 12 months of further training at Heinz and Gordon, before being admitted to practice in 1975.

In 1979, he became a partner of that firm, where he worked until 2001, before moving to Bendigo.
A specialist in property and commercial law, Mr Kuhle said he has always enjoyed the one-on-one interaction with clients, while earning their confidence and providing quality service.
In his role on the committee of the Bendigo Law Association, Mr Kuhle was tasked with supervising the continued development of legal professionals in the region.
"Lawyers have to do about 10 hours per year of professional development and most of it is in Melbourne, but I organised half-day seminars in Bendigo for local practitioners," he said.
"It suited the local workforce and helped cope with an influx of young Bendigo lawyers."
Mr Kuhle said the collegiate bond between competing firms in Bendigo has helped keep him engaged with the industry and eager to give back.
"It's nothing for solicitors in different firms to ring each other and get a second opinion on how to conduct a matter," he said.
"Legal practice is about cooperation for the mutual benefit of the client and the other solicitors' client."
A lifelong Collingwood supporter and fan of David Attenborough, Mr Kuhle said he is looking forward to watching plenty of sport and visiting his daughters and grand daughter in Queensland during his retirement.
"I'll stay in Bendigo for the time being and look to engage in some voluntary work, but I'm open to suggestions."
"I donated my suits to the Salvation Army, so I won't be working in the office, that's for sure."
