The funding will be used to revamp the school's G block, which is used to teach mathematics. Parts of the building were built as early as 1870.

The state government confirmed Y2 Architecture, which has an office in Bendigo, would take on the design process for the new upgrades.
The architecture firm last year won an international award for its design of Marist College Bendigo.
The upgrade works at BSSC could start as early as next year.
"We're making sure that our schools have the best facilities, our classrooms have the best teachers and that every child is given every chance to succeed," Member for Bendigo West Maree Edwards said.
