MARKETS
WEEKLY MARKET
This weekly market showcases a family atmosphere and lots of new and used goods right in the heart of Bendigo.
The Sunday market is one of the largest of its kind in central Victoria.
There will be hot and cold foods, coffee, fresh produce, plants and pots, tools, candles, soaps, clothing, homewares, toys, hobby items, cosmetics, furniture and much more.
Free admission and ample parking.
Where: Prince of Wales Showgrounds, Holmes Road, Bendigo.
When: Sunday, January 31, from 8.30am.
MARONG MARKET
Join in with the Marong community for their first market of 2021.
This market will feature something for everyone, from fresh produce to gifts.
There will be bags, handmade goods, biscuits and treats, soaps, jewellery, plants and much more.
Bring your family, meet your friends there and have a good start to your weekend at the Marong Market.

SUMMER SWIM
Celebrate summer at the Golden Square Pool with a barbecue and casual swim.
Hosted by Loddon Campaspe Multicultural Services and SwimSafe Bendigo, this event is an open day for their adult swimming lessons.
Meet the instructors, learn what their classes are about, enjoy a free barbecue and enrol in a new skill.
All multicultural community members are encouraged to come along.

ARTISTS TALK
Head to the Bendigo Art Gallery for a floor talk with winner of the Paul Guest Prize, Richard Lewer.
This free event will allow for attendees to learn more about the winning piece, the inspiration behind it and much more.

When: Sunday, January 31, from 3pm to 3.30pm.
DISCOVER HISTORY
Presented by Desiree Petitt-Keating from Bendigo Regional Archives Centre, this event explores Sandhurst's response to infectious diseases.
With the theme that history never repeats, it explores how the responses to the COVID-19 pandemic are similar to those of a smallpox outbreak in the 1870s.
This event will explore ways the media and public responded to infectious diseases.

PIZZA AND GAMES
Loddon Campaspe Multicultural Services is excited to host an event for all of Bendigo's multicultural youth.
This event will feature pizza and games in Rosalind Park.
There will be games of backyard cricket, downball and much more.

SKATE PARK COMPETITION
Head to the Gisborne Skate Park at the weekend and challenge others in skate, scooters and BMX events.
This event is aimed at those 16 years old and under.
The Skate Park League competitions are community-based events which focus on bringing people together and embracing skate park culture.
All competitors will go in the draw to win a raffle prize.

PERFORMANCES
CHAMBER MUSIC FESTIVAL
The Bendigo Chamber Music Festival is back after its 2020 festival, but with a bit of a different feel due to COVID-19.
In partnership with the City of Bendigo and Bendigo Venues and Events, this festival will feature some of Australia's best artists through 15 concerts.
This year will feature Australian woodwind stars, oboist Diana Doherty, and clarinettist David Griffiths; concertmaster and chamber musician Natsuko Yoshimoto; violinist Anna da Silva Chen; and New York-based pianist, Andrea Lam; plus many, many more.
The five days will also present a huge selection of chamber music with the favourites among the lesser-known pieces.

MUSIC IN THE PARK
Enjoy an evening of music in a community garden with this Summer in the Parks event.
Erica Hawkey Band & The Grinners will keep everyone entertained with their tunes.

EXHIBITIONS
CLOSE TO HOME
Last year was a year like no other and this exhibition, with works by Janet Neilson and Penny Peckham, showcases all that was 2020.
Peckham and Neilson's shared artistic interests brought them together during the COVID-19 pandemic and ended up in them creating linoprints, monoprints, paper works, stamping and much more.
Inspiration has been drawn from the daily activities that were taking place during the pandemic, books that were read, gardening and more.

TABLE MATTERS
Ceramists Sharon Alpren, Cassie Hansen and Emma Jimson have come together to showcase their exhibition Table Matters.
This exhibition celebrates the art of dining and features a floral installation from Libertine Florists.

ART COLLECTION
In addition to the regular exhibitions that the Central Goldfields Art Gallery has, there will also be pop-up exhibitions throughout the new year.
The pop-up works will feature artists who reside in the Central Goldfields region.
