Glenn Hall, 49, appeared in the Bendigo Magistrates' Court on Monday where he pleaded guilty to charges including possessing cannabis.
The court heard on April 7 last year, police attended Hall's address and found 26 plants, believed to be cannabis, growing inside a makeshift greenhouse in the backyard.

There were also a number of plants drying on the clothes line.
The officers also noticed a shooting range at the back of the property and located an unregistered firearm in a cupboard.
There were also ammunition cartridges found at the home.
The court heard Hall was prohibited from owning a firearm.
The 49-year-old told police he did not use cannabis and obtained the plant seeds from a friend.
Hall said he only started growing the plants four months earlier because he wanted to see if he would be successful.
When asked about the unregistered firearm, Hall told police he bought the gun for target practice and to shoot rabbits on his property.
He agreed that he had never held a firearms licence.
Magistrate Rodney Higgins convicted and fined Hall $1000. He was ordered to forfeit the cannabis, firearm, and ammunition.
