The 25-year-old was just two shots off the lead early in the third round, but a frustrating weekend saw him slide to 25th overall at five-under par - 13 shots behind runaway winner Tyrell Hatton.
After opening with a pair of four-under par 68s, Herbert shot a two-over par 74 on Saturday and a one-over par 73 on Sunday.
The top 25 placing earned Herbert 73.44 Race to Dubai points and a handy cheque for $AUD93,616.71.
Herbert now heads to the Dubai Desert Classic where he is the defending champion. The tournament starts on Thursday.
Meanwhile, Andrew Martin finished tied for 16th at the Gippsland Super 6 on the Australian PGA Tour.
Martin qualified for the matchplay section of the tournament by finishing inside the 24 of strokeplay after three rounds.
He won his round one matchplay clash before losing to eventual champion Marcus Fraser in the second round. Kris Mueck missed the halfway cut.
