The ban means no fires can be lit or be allowed to remain alight in the open air.
Total Fire Bans are declared by CFA on days when fires are likely to spread rapidly and be difficult to control.

The Bureau of Meteorology has also issued a warning of severe fire danger with temperatures forecast to reach 40 degrees in Bendigo and 42 in Echuca.
Gusty north to northwesterly winds are expected over northern parts of Victoria before a mild and gusty southwesterly change moves over the Mallee during the afternoon and reaches northern central parts of the state in the early evening.
