Saturday's round of matches features all games in which a top-four team is playing a bottom-four side.
The closest teams on the ladder matched-up against each other are South Bendigo (3rd) and Castlemaine (5th), who are separated by 20 points.
The Maine have got themselves in the finals hunt and would give their aspirations a massive shot in the arm if they could knock off the Diggers for the second time this season after beating the reigning premiers by 10 shots in round two.
The challenge for the Maine though is to re-produce that form away from home to keep in the finals race.
