Temperatures are forecast to hit 34 degrees in Bendigo on Thursday, 35 on Friday.
Extreme heat speed restrictions are put in place on V/Line travel when temperatures rise above 36 degrees to reduce the likelihood of train and track faults.

V/Line has encouraged passengers to allow extra time for their trip.
Trains will carry drinking water for passengers, who are advised to travel with bottled water and wear cool clothing.
Coaches are also replacing services for all or part of the journey on the Maryborough line, as part of planned works. A temporary replacement timetable is in place.
