Former Bendigo and Mount Alexander council official Bradley Thomas has been appointed as the Hepburn Shire's interim chief executive officer after the resignation of Evan King.

Mr Thomas has previously been Hepburn's director community and corporate services and was confirmed as the interim chief executive at a special council meeting last night.
Mr Thomas has over 12 years' experience in local government having worked at both the City of Greater Bendigo and Mount Alexander Shire Council in leadership roles.
Mr King is taking up the role as chief executive officer at the City of Ballarat next month.

In his closing statements to the shire, Mr King said he had been incredibly humbled to have taken on the role of chief executive of the Hepburn Shire.
"My dream job came up and as a very proud Ballarat person, it was an incredible lure for me," Mr King said in his closing remarks at the meeting.
"It's been an incredible experience, I will continue to keep an eye on Hepburn in my new role. I will be leaving with a great deal of respect for council and the community."
A sub-committee comprising mayor Lesley Hewitt, deputy mayor Brian Hood and Cr Don Henderson will be formed to be in charge of appointing a full-time chief executive over the coming weeks.
