POLICE are investigating after a man sprayed an unknown substance in a premises in Bendigo, leading to a woman being taken to hospital.
Officers said the man first came into the premises on King Street with a baseball bat on Tuesday. They said the man made no threats, but was asked to get rid of it.
Police said he returned a short time later and sprayed the foyer of the premises with an unknown substance.

The foyer was then evacuated and police and firefighters were called to the scene. Fire Rescue Victoria crews treated the scene, which was deemed safe and staff allowed back in.
Paramedics took a woman in her 20s to hospital after the incident, in what appeared to be a stable condition.
A police investigation into the incident continues.
Emergency services were called to the scene on King Street about 2.20pm.

An Ambulance Victoria spokesperson said the woman in her 20s was taken to hospital in what appeared to be a stable condition.
A WorkSafe spokesperson said the organisation was making inquiries about the incident.
